Interesting Article

This is a different kind of blog post for me, but I found this article fascinating and just wanted to share it.  Just call it another follow up to Hurricane Florence:


Remember that huge chipping operation across from the Center for Public Safety with the debris from Hurricane Florence.?
Here’s where those chips went. They were part of a hugely successful operation to take care of 4.2 million chickens that were killed in flood waters in eastern NC. In a partnership with FEMA, the chips were used to create a well-regulated composting operation that saved millions in disposal costs for the chickens. Read the story for the details in how the scientists and disposal experts did it.
